ROMS Diagnostics: Analysis Compared to Forecast
These figures show the root mean square error (RMSE) between the forecast and analysis model runs for the different regions available for the ROMS models.

The top panels of the figure below show the RMSE of the sea surface temperature between the forecast and analysis for the 3 day forecast and the 7 day forecast. The lower panels are the same, except for the U-velocity of the upper three layers of the model.
The top panels in the figure below shows the RMSE in time between the forecast and analysis for the sea surface temperature and upper three layers of velocity. The bottom row is the persistence RMSE through time between the same model runs. Persistence is a measure of the continuance of the same ocean state.
